Welcome To Our New Website
Kay and Margaret are daughter and mother who always dreamed of starting their own bakery. Giving up government jobs in 1988, their dream came true. Ultimately, their dream became our dream, a bakery made up of good country cooks who love what they do. Mom and daughter are natives of Loudoun County who both graduated from Loudoun County High School. They are part of a family of great country cooks who have a natural ability to turn simple food into great food. They pride themselves on cooking comfort foods. After a visit to their shop, there is no doubt that you will feel that comfort.
Little Apple Pastry Shop has a little bit of everything. Their pies are sought after. People come from as far away as Maryland to buy them. Apple and Key Lime are everyday favorites, but you can get just about any kind of fruit pie, cream pie, cobblers and crisps as well as sugar free pies if you order it ahead.
Sandwiches are also available and Little Apple Pastry Shop is known for their fresh roasted turkey sandwiches. Their most popular sandwich is the Thanksgiving sandwich that includes fresh roasted turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. Their country ham biscuits are also a favorite, which feature Virginia country ham on homemade biscuits. These little gems have been written up in the Washington Post Food Section (October 10, 2001) and in the Middleburg Eccentric. They serve an array of meat pot pies, quiche, deviled eggs, coffee and homemade candy (the peanut butter cups are better than the popular brand by a long shot). Additionally, they make party platters of desserts, tea sandwiches and mini quiche for any size party and will fix up a picnic lunch or dinner for you. |
In the quaint village of Aldie, bakers Kay Pitts and Margaret Hawes start their day in the middle of the night. They arrive at the Little Apple Pastry Shop and start baking their famous cinnamon rolls, pies, lemon bars, brownies, croissants and biscuits. Then they put in the turkey and make the homemade stuffing. Every day is Thanksgiving at this shop.
